The Political Networks Section of the American Political Science
Association is seeking nominations for the following officers:
VICE-CHAIR
Assist the Chair as needed and maintain a record of actions of the
Executive Committee and the annual meeting. The Vice-Chair also serves
as the Chair for the following year.
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Communicate relevant information to the Section membership by editing
a newsletter and any other means decided by the Executive Committee.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SEAT
Fill all vacancies in any office, including its own membership until the
next election; approve
minutes of the Vice-Chair; audit the annual report of the Treasurer;
recommend names for the APSA program committee; propose amendments to
these by-laws or receive petitions for changes in the by-laws; make
decisions and recommendations for any other business of the Section;
and interpret these by-laws.
The term for each office is two years (with the second year of the
Vice-Chair term in service as Chair). Per the by-laws of the Section,
the Nomination Committee will nominate a slate of candidates for
consideration by section membership prior to the Annual Business
Meeting at the 2011 APSA Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA (September
1-4). Others can be nominated by petition of 5 percent of the
Section’s membership. The election will be conducted at the Section
meeting at the APSA Annual Meeting. The newly-elected officers will take
office immediately after the election is complete.
Anyone who wishes to nominate themselves or a colleague should email a
c.v. and brief statement of interest to the Nomination Committee
Chair, Casey Klofstad ([log in to unmask]). We encourage applications
from across subfields, continents, race, and gender lines. In order
for the committee to have sufficient time to deliberate, please apply
no later than April 1, 2011. We will supply the Section with a list of
nominees to consider ahead of the APSA Annual Meeting.
