Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellow position in the
area of dynamics of networks in the Department of Mathematics at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. One year appointments
may begin August 1, 2011, renewable for an additional year based on
satisfactory performance. Candidates should have received a doctorate
in mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, statistics, computer
science, or a closely related field, and have an interest in the study
of networks. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated
expertise in the areas of community detection and/or contagions on
networks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work
with faculty affiliated with the Duke Network Analysis Center and the
Carolina Population Center. Teaching in the Department of Mathematics
is also available as part of this position, if desired.
