Ray Pahl, who died recently, published as R.E. Pahl, but to all who knew
him, he was "Ray"
I thought 2 of his books were dynamite:
Divisions of Labour showed how differentiated English rural life is.
Demonstrating that rural life was flourishing but far from the vicar-esque
His On Friendship (with Liz Stanley) did the same thing for relationships
Ray was generous with his time and communication to many.
And a complex man.
