Research Fellow - The Uncertainty of Identity

The School of Computer Science is looking for a Research Fellow within the EPSRC funded project "The Uncertainty of Identity: Linking Spatiotemporal Information Between Virtual and Real Worlds".
The goal of this project is to link information pertaining to human characteristics in real and virtual worlds in order to better manage the uncertainties inherent in establishing human identity and linking it to human locations.
The Research Fellow will conduct internationally-leading research in complex networks and large-scale data mining. S/He will also analyse and interpret research findings and results with the aim of disseminating them in top international journals and conferences. The project will be conducted in collaboration with the other partners and advisors of the projects including researchers at University College London, City University London, Purdue University, Arizona State University and several governmental organisations. There is also funding for research visits to the United States.
To apply you must hold a first degree in the areas of computer science, physics, mathematics, statistics or a related discipline, and normally, a PhD relevant to the research area or equivalent qualifications. Also, you should have demonstrated your research competence through high-quality and high-impact publications in top conferences and journals in the area of complex networks, machine learning and data mining. You should have a high level of analytical capability and ability to communicate complex information clearly. You should be fluent in relevant models, techniques or methods and the ability to contribute to developing new ones. Knowledge of machine learning and/or large data sets mining techniques (or willingness to acquire them) is really appreciated.
