RE: Call for Open Access Publishing Posters for OA Week 2012
Do you have experience with Open Access Publishing? Share it during UF's 2012 Open Access Week celebration, October 23 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Health Science Center Library, and October 24 from 10 a.m. to noon in Library West.
Members of the UF campus community are invited to submit proposals for posters that demonstrate how open access has impacted their teaching, learning and research.
Examples of possible poster topics:
- Use of open educational resources in a UF course
- How publishing in open access journals has increased impact of specific research
- How the NIH open access mandate has impacted health research
- Utilization of crowdsourcing in sharing and review of research ("open science")
Poster proposals should be no more than 250 words and submitted by September 20, 2012 to Ms. Christine Fruin ([log in to unmask]), Scholarly Communications Librarian at the UF George A. Smathers Libraries. Please include, in your proposal, at which event you would like to present. Proposals will be reviewed by the Libraries' Scholarly Communications Working Group. Notifications of accepted proposals will be made by September 28, 2012.
Accepted posters will be printed and set up by the Libraries, but must be removed at the end of the Open Access Week event by the presenter. Completed posters should be no more than three feet by four feet. Posters should be submitted in PDF or PPT (PowerPoint) format by October 15, 2012 to [log in to unmask]
Thanks much! We look forward to your participation!
