RE:     November 5: L'Oreal USA Fellowships For Women In Science Application Process Opens


On November 5, 2012, the L'Oreal USA Fellowships For Women In Science program will start accepting applications.

Applications are due by December 20, 2012.

Awards will be announced in June 2013.

The L'Oreal USA Fellowships program is a yearly national awards program that recognizes and rewards five US-based woman researchers at the start of their scientific careers. Recipients receive up to $60,000, which they must put towards their postdoctoral research. The aim of the program is to raise awareness of the contributions women make to science, and to identify exceptional female researchers in the United States who can serve as role models for younger generations.

To be eligible, applicants must have completed their Ph.D degree by December 20, 2012 and start their postdoctoral position by September 1, 2013. They must be American citizens (born or naturalized) or legal permanent residents at the time of application. They must be affiliated with a US-based academic or research institution, and their research and studies must be conducted in the United States. They must be in fields such as chemistry, computer science, earth science, engineering, immunology, life sciences, material sciences, mathematics, medical research or physical sciences.
