Hello BESTers,
Like it or not, packaged food and food processing is a major worldwide
industry, and one of the world's largest corporations is Kraft.
Fortunately Kraft, among other companies, is striving to become zero
waste, as well as taking other strides to become sustainable. 36 of
Kraft's manufacturing plants in 13 countries have already gone zero
waste, some of these plants, including a cream cheese factory in
Wisconsin and a coffee plant in Vienna, are utilizing anaerobic
digestion to produce energy from food waste. This is further evidence
that multi-national corporations are beginning to realize the large
impact (both negative and positive) they can have on the environment and
global sustainability.
Have a great weekend,
Ryan
