MEMORANDUM
Date: February 24, 2012
To: All UF Graduate Coordinators and Staff
From: Rick Bryant
Associate Director of Admissions
UF Office of Admissions
RE: Forwarding of Graduate Applicant Transcripts
Applicants are directed by the Office of Admissions and the Graduate School to send copies of their transcripts to both the Office of Admissions and their respective department(s). In an ideal environment, the forwarding of transcripts should be unnecessary.
However, experience shows that not all of our applicants follow outlined procedures and you may find that you receive more than one copy of the applicant's transcript. I ask, due to the high volume of transcripts received and staffing issues that all of us are dealing with, that you not make it office policy to automatically forward the second copy to our attention.
Transcripts should be sent to our attention in cases where the file has been placed out for review and we don't have the transcript (international file), or for domestic files after admitting the student and NERDC Screen 7 still shows that we have not received a copy of the student's transcript.
Also, in the case of denied students, please do not send copies of their transcripts to the Office of Admissions. They should remain a part of the department's records.
Your cooperation is appreciated and allows us to better serve you and our applicants during this very busy time of the year.
As always, please feel free to contact me at 294-0931 or [log in to unmask] if you have any questions or concerns.
Regards,
Rick
