Commerce secretary warns of corporate espionage in push for cyber bill -
The Hill's Hillicon Valley
Commerce Secretary John Bryson warned on Friday that corporations are at
risk of having their business secrets stolen by foreign hackers unless
Congress enacts new cybersecurity legislation.
"Over the past five years, a highly sophisticated team of operatives have
stealthily infiltrated more than 70 U.S. corporations and organizations to
steal priceless company secrets," Bryson wrote in an op-ed Friday. "They
did it without ever setting foot in any victimís office. Sitting at
undisclosed computers, they could be anywhere in the world."
