We are looking to fill a 1 year postdoctoral position at the
intersection of economics, computation and health care policy. We
have access to a national, terabyte-scale data set of insurance
claims. We will be looking to use econometric and network analytical
techniques to understand the impacts of specific insurance policies,
and the implications of the inter-physician referral network structure
implicit in the data. The specific projects advanced during the year
will also depend on the research agenda of the post-doctoral fellow.
Ideal candidates will have a background in health or health policy,
technical expertise in dealing with large data sets, and familiarity
with econometric and network analytical techniques. Suitable subsets
of the above will also be considered.
The position will be sponsored by the Boston University School of
Management and the Hariri Center for Computing and Computational
Science & Engineering. Within the School of Management, the primary
affiliations will be with the Information Systems (IS) and Markets,
Public Policy and Law (MPPL) departments.
Please contact Ben Lubin ([log in to unmask]) with CV and letters of
interest. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue
until the position is filled.
