Natural Gas for Vehicles Could Use U.S. Support

According to this article, natural gas (NG) is cheap, plentiful, and
less polluting relative to oil, but lacks the infrastructure (i.e.
filling stations) for broad delivery as a vehicle fuel. NG vehicles are
used by some local bus and garbage-truck fleets that operate in a
limited area and can fill up at their own re-fueling stations. Some
stations aimed at consumers are being built but progress is slow.
There’s also a lack of NG vehicles available for consumers to buy in the
US, whereas bi-fuel (use either petrol or NG) vehicles have long been
available in Europe. This article suggests that the Government should
initiate a federal program to build out the necessary natural gas
stations as a means to create jobs for construction workers, save money
for consumers, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
