RE: December 7 Application Deadline for Spring 2013 Graduate Funding Awards
The Graduate School is requesting your assistance in announcing the Spring Graduate School Supplemental Tuition Retention Program and the Delores Auzenne Dissertation Award.
The Supplemental Tuition Retention Program offers limited tuition assistance for UF Ph.D. or MFA students who are three or fewer semesters away from graduation. The funding is designed to assist students with the completion of their degree programs by providing limited tuition assistance and by involving them in retention activities organized by the Graduate School. The award provides in-state tuition rate coverage only. It does not include coverage for out-of-state tuition, fees, or health insurance. Students must be registered appropriately.
Applicants Must:
* Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
* Have exhausted all opportunities for a fellowship, assistantship, or other College/Departmental funding. Be enrolled in good standing during the semester of application and receipt of funds
* Submit a COMPLETE application packet to be received by the posted deadline.

The Delores Auzenne Dissertation Award is competitively awarded to underrepresented Ph.D. candidates in the advanced stages of writing their dissertation. The award provides up to $10,000, and up to 5 credit hours of tuition assistance. Successful applicants may receive funds over the course of the Spring Semester and the following Summer A Semester or they can receive funds over the course of the Summer B and Fall semesters The award is intended to provide one-time financial support to students who have exhausted all other avenues of support. Applicants may not receive a fellowship, assistantship, OPS employment or other funding with this award. Stipends will be determined based on the student's financial need and academic merit. All underrepresented minority Ph.D. doctoral candidates who meet all of the eligibility requirements may apply, however a strong preference will be given to in students in Social Sciences and the Humanities.
Applicants Must:
* Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
* Be an advanced doctoral student, who has completed all pre-dissertation requirements
* Have successfully defended their dissertation proposal before the application deadline
* Have been admitted to doctoral candidacy
* Be enrolled in good standing during the semester of application and receipt of funds.
* NOT hold any other assistantships, fellowships, or OPS employment.
* Not be employed by the University of Florida in any capacity.
* Have the Dissertation Chair submit evidence of the applicant's writing progress with the application and give updates on student's progress.
* Submit a COMPLETE application packet to be received by the posted deadline.
