RE: Spring 2013 Workshops for TAs: Effective Use of Technology in the Classroom
Would you like to better understand how to effectively incorporate technologies into your classroom? Avoid "death by PowerPoint?" Create a course for the Web?
The UF Teaching Center, in conjunction with the UF Graduate School, conducts several workshops each semester which are designed to help new teachers (especially graduate teaching assistants) improve their teaching skills.
This spring the workshops will focus on teaching with technology, and a "Certificate of Participation" will be awarded to all who complete at least 10 of the 12 workshops.
Workshop attendance is kept so that you may earn the certificate over a number of semesters rather than having to complete all workshops this spring.
The workshops will be conducted on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. beginning January 22, 2013.
For a description of the workshops and to register, please visit the Teaching Center web site (http://www.teachingcenter.ufl.edu/ta_development.html) under "Teaching More Effectively Workshop Series."
