We thought this might be of possible interest for those in the SNA community
who work on modeling diffusion through networks. This is a 6 day workshop,
with a complete introduction to the SIR epidemic modeling framework, and
dynamic network models in statnet:

The Network Modeling for Epidemics (NME) 2013 short course at the
University of Washington will provide an introduction to stochastic
network models for epidemiology, with a focus on empirically based
modeling of the transmission network for HIV. It is a “hands-on” course,
focusing on the statnet suite of R packages, including the new epinetsim
tools.
Course fee is $250. Travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the
attendee, although subsidized on-campus housing is available, as are a
limited number of scholarships for pre-doctoral students or for attendees
from outside the US/Canada.
There are two important application dates:
Mar 1: deadline for those who wish to apply for a scholarship, or want
guaranteed on-campus housing as part of their acceptance into the course.
Decisions will be made by Mar 15.
Applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis until Apr 1,
although campus housing will only be available on a first-come-first-serve
basis. Announcements will be made by Apr 15.
