address is 2610 SW 23rd Terrace Gainesville, FL. Come learn about
composting and sustainability in your own community, or learn how to
start composting on your own! This is a great chance to meet everyone
involved with the SCC. You will also be able to pick up some of the
compost that was made in the fall.
The tentative schedule for today will be:
4pm: Meet at Compost Cooperative at 2610 SW 23rd Terrace Gainesville,
445pm: How to compost at home or in a community.
515pm: Continued composting discussion with food prepared with biogas!
515pm: (Alternate discussion) How to start a low impact home garden.
6pm: Clean up and End of Open house.
(Note: if you would like to bring food waste to compost today, please
avoid bringing meats or oils.)
The SCC is a student-run cooperative, organized by the BioEnergy and
Sustainable Technology (BEST) Laboratory, and has an open door policy,
meaning food waste can be brought to the composters at any time.
