Hello BEST community,
A new species yellow-green algae, heterococcus sp. DN1, was recently
discovered in the snow fields of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. This new
algae has been shown to produce high quality lipids in almost freezing
temperatures. This cold-tolerant species may hold great potential for
commercial biofuel production in temperate regions where other algal
species cannot grow.
