Hi -
NSA-tion of the workplace
That is interesting considering, for most all businesses, all employee email
is company property.
NSA-tion of everyplace
To play it safe, save sensitive emails until you leave work. Just hop on
Gmail, where you have, "no reasonable expectation of privacy" according to
Schmidty and Wednesday legal filing by Google lawyers, to wit,
"Just as a sender of a letter to a business colleague cannot be surprised
that the recipient's assistant opens the letter, people who use web-based
email today cannot be surprised if their emails are processed by the
recipient's [email provider] in the course of delivery. Indeed, 'a person
has no legitimate expectation of privacy in information he voluntarily turns
over to third parties.'"

Hey SNA practitioners...
Has this happened to you yet?
This week a client forcefully rejected the idea of mining employee emails
for an SNA project. Said NSA thing has him worried... would rather stick
with surveys -- employees know what they are sharing.
