RE: UF CRC May Faculty Blog Feature
The UF Career Resource Center is excited to introduce the 2nd Faculty feature this year on the new blog feature 'International Gators, Calling the Swamp Home'. In this Blog series, we'll be chatting with some of the most intriguing UF faculty, staff and students on campus who will share their experiences about landing a job outside of their country of origin or how they are preparing for the job search in another country. Each person will be asked four questions about their experiences and insights that they would like to share. The hope is that students will get a varied, well rounded and holistic perspective about what it means to be a global student and be able to network with these individuals, identify potential role models and learn from others who have had the same experience.
This Month of May faculty feature is the talented Dr. Luisa Amelia Dempere, engineer and director of the Major Analytical Instrumentation Center (MAIC) and the Particle Analysis Instrumentation Center (PAIC). Dr. Dempere, a native of Venezuela, has lived in the U.S. for the past 21 years. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, and first secured employment in Materials Characterization at UF upon completing her studies. Please review her journey below.
