HONORS OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.	ANNOUNCEMENT: Support the Honors Program through the Senior Legacy Campaign (NEW POSTING):
The Senior Legacy is a campaign created by the Florida Fund as an opportunity to say "Thanks!" to an institution that has made a lasting impact on your life in an equally lasting and meaningful way. Since 1995, graduating seniors have given thousands of dollars in support of the University of Florida. These students have left a legacy of excellent programming and resources for the benefit of future Gators - including you!

Your gift will allow UF to continue the tradition of offering excellent education, facilities, resources, and opportunities to students. Your support also provides the tools to further advance research and enhance the educational environment that make us all proud to call ourselves Gators.

Every senior is being asked to give $20.14 to honor your graduation year. While the majority of gifts will be at this level, the university often receives gifts at many levels - any amount helps. Seniors will be contacted about the Senior Legacy campaign on several occasions, including at Grad Bash through the Alumni Association.

For the first time, the Honors Program is able to benefit directly from the Senior Legacy campaign. We are very excited about this opportunity, as it means our own students have the opportunity to contribute directly to a program that we hope has had a great impact on them while at UF - whether through the Honors community at Hume, honors courses, advising, student organizations, support to attend conferences such as Gatorship, or other honors opportunities.

To make sure your Senior Legacy gift benefits the Honors Program, you can give directly through this link: www.uff.ufl.edu/Appeals/HonorsSeniors . If you decide to give during Grad Bash using a Senior Legacy card, please write in "Honors Program" as the beneficiary of your gift.

And of course, seniors aren't the only ones who can donate through the Senior Legacy campaign. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are welcome to contribute as well - in fact, you have the opportunity to recognize someone in your gift. Why not "honor" a senior honors student?

Thanks to everyone for their support of the Honors Program - we couldn't do this without you!

2.	ANNOUNCEMENT: Honors Daily and Walk-in Advising End This Week:
The Honors Daily and Walk-in Advising will wrap up with the final day of classes for the semester on Wednesday, April 23. If you have submissions for the Honors Daily, please submit those soon. We will continue to be available for advising appointments throughout the summer. The Honors Daily and Walk-in Advising will resume with the first day of the fall semester in August.

HONORS ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCEMENTS

3.	LEADERSHIP: Honors Dance Marathon Team Delegate Application Available:
The Honors DM has just finished an amazing year of making miracles happen by raising over $6,000 FTK! Our current Delegate is moving up in the DM world and needs someone to take over the team. LEADERSHIP AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

6.	LEADERSHIP: Leadership Opportunity with Florida Alternative Breaks:
Become the new events chair for Florida Alternative Breaks. As events chair you can look forward to combining your powers of creativity with your sense of logistics as you put on events that perpetuate our culture of active-citizenship and service learning.

You will be in charge of quintessential FAB events such as orientation and reorientation, which help guide participants in their journey to active citizenship. You will also have the pleasure of putting on FAB fest, an end-of-the-year celebration of FAB's accomplishments and a chance to engage with non-profits in Gainesville. Everything from planning the tiny details, working with a budget, marketing your event, writing press releases, and working with community members will be in your control.

This is an amazing resume and skill-building opportunity. You will have the chance to improve your planning and time management skills, interpersonal communication, flexibility and creativity. You also get to kick it with the coolest crew this side of the I-75.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to become part of a group of people committed to rocking the status quo and changing their world through education, direct service, and reflection.

Past experience with FAB preferred.

Applications are due Wednesday, April 23. Email [log in to unmask] if you have any questions. You can find the application here: https://ufl.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_abBSl7OjlAFvXqB

7.	LEADERSHIP: Advertising Chair Needed for Amnesty International:
Do you love human rights? Would you like to be involved in leading the UF chapter of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning grassroots activist NGO, Amnesty International (AI)? The UFAI board is currently seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic students to join them in taking UFAI to another level of campus awareness next semester. In particular, we are looking for an advertising chair whose work will ultimately increase campus outreach through different forms of social media, flyers, etc. Experience with Photoshop and Adobe are a plus but not required -- only passion and love for human rights!

If you are interested, please send your resume and a short paragraph (250 words or less) on why you think you could fit the role of advertising chair to [log in to unmask]
