The Institute of Management of the University of Lugano, Switzerland,
invites applications for one PHD position starting in September 2014 or
The PhD project will take an SNA perspective and focus on the dynamic
analysis of intra-organizational networks. Within this broad focus, the
candidate will be expected to develop an original PhD project in concert
with his/her advisor.
The PhD position is full time and it comes with a yearly salary of 40.000
Swiss Francs, raising to 45.000 over the duration of the PhD.
Candidates should have completed, or be about to complete, a Master's
degree in Social Psychology, Psychology, Sociology, Management, or a
related field. They should be hardworking, self-driven, analytical individuals
with a genuine passion for research. They should be interested in pursuing
an international academic career.
The PhD program in Organization and Management of the University of
Lugano is a structured doctoral program of the duration of 4 to 5 years.
The PhD faculty involves both internal faculty members and leading

The PhD position is hosted within the Institute of Management (IMA) of the
University of Lugano. IMA is a research-oriented group focused on the
study of organizations. Researchers at IMA strive to publish high-quality
research in top-tier journals in management, or in the social sciences more
broadly. SNA constitutes a core competence at IMA, and IMA researchers
are actively involved in the development and application of advanced
methods for the analysis of network dynamics. More information about IMA
