I hope you'll all pardon me for creating a new term in a world already overwhelmed with jargon. I want to collect examples of the use of network analysis and network visualization by interlopers--especially journalists, designers and the lay public. I'm calling it "neotopology" in order to draw comparisons to neogeography. I'm thinking of things like the New York Times oscar map [1] or Christian Swineheart's network visualizations of Choose-Your-Own-Adventure novels [2]. Along with examples, if anyone has pointers to folks thinking about this influx of network rhetoric (esp. visual) into popular discourse, that would be much appreciated as well.
