Founded in 1879, Curry College is a private, four-year, liberal arts-based institution located on a wooded 135-acre campus in Milton, MA just seven miles from downtown Boston. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), Curry College offers 20 undergraduate majors, as well as four graduate programs.

The Program for Advancement of Learning (PAL) at Curry College has a 44-year history of teaching students with average to above average intelligence who have learning disabilities (LD), Executive Function (EF) disorder, and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) through a metacognitive, strength-based approach. PAL seeks an experienced and proven academic leader with an expertise in postsecondary LD, a strong research background, and knowledge of current findings from neuro/cognitive science and their implications for teaching and learning. The Director will recognize and support the strengths of the current PAL model and will lead the program as it continues to evolve as a premier teaching center for college students with LD. The Director will also facilitate PAL's place in the field of postsecondary study as a rich resource for research about and evaluation of students with learning differences.
The Director will be responsible for facilitating and expanding PAL's mission as a leader in the field of postsecondary LD teaching and learning. As a visionary and collaborative leader, the Director provides support and guidance to 25 PAL faculty and approximately 300 students; interacts with administrators, general faculty, students, and parents; and, actively participates in the field of learning differences through research, publications, and presentations.
The successful candidate for the Director position is expected to meet the following requirements for this 12-month position:
* Ph.D./Ed.D. in relevant discipline
* Minimum of 5 years' experience leading faculty in an academic department
* Significant teaching experience at the post-secondary level within the traditional classroom and supporting students at the post-secondary level who have learning disabilities.
* Demonstrated knowledge of strength-based learning and teaching, self-regulation and metacognition, principles of transformative learning, and scholarship related to applied educational psychology or cognitive science.
* Demonstrated skills in communicating with internal and external stakeholders, such as faculty, administration, parents, and students
* Significant experience working in a cross-disciplinary environment
* Documented experience with curriculum development, learning outcomes assessment, program evaluations and accreditation
* Scholarship in the field of LD, ADHD, Executive Functioning, and learning differences
* Strong understanding of psycho-educational evaluations
* Demonstrated knowledge of assistive technologies and applications
* Documented experience of budget planning and oversight
