Hello BEST Members,
A few years ago, Nest introduced the world to their programmable
thermostat- Nest Learning Thermostat. Nest Learning Thermostat saves
energy automatically and has the potential to manage half your energy
bill, with savings up to $180 per year on heating and cooling.
The thermostat is easy to use and it trains itself, adapting to your
changing lifestyle. Essentially, every time you adjust the temperature,
the thermostat learns more about your home and your habits. Accordingly,
it changes the temperature based on the time of day, adjusting itself to
save you energy. There is also a NestLeaf feature on the thermostat that
appears when you’re at an energy-efficient temperature.
Overall, Nest Learning Thermostat helps monitor energy consumption and,
as a result, helps conserve energy. In addition, it is a device that
aims to provide comfort and savings. It brings convenience with its
connection to Wi-Fi, allowing consumers to adjust the temperature in
their home remotely using a phone, tablet, or computer. From the remote
device, you can also view your energy consumption and how much you are
spending on heating and cooling costs.
This device will not suit everyone, especially with its high price
($249), but it provides individuals who would like to become more energy
efficient with a low maintenance, automated thermostat. In the long run,
the device should pay for itself as it lowers energy costs, but it also
depends on how long the product is used for.
"Saving Energy" Nest.
