Hi Mark,
We recently purchased card readers for TutorTrac and so far they are working out well. There were some glitches in the installation process but the company was helpful in figuring out the problem. We have the ID Tech Versakey (a keyboard with a built-in swipe) as well a MiniMag II Card Reader IDMB-332133B.
Take care,
Alexandra

The model we have is PN-21040140. I've seen some available on Amazon too.
Good luck!

Hi Mark,
We use a Magtek card reader that has both HID and keyboard interface. We've purchased ours through Dell and they generally run about $60 per reader. I believe you'll want to find one that has at least the keyboard interface, as that's the mode that is compatible with TutorTrac.
We had a little trouble initially getting the output correct, but once we figured it out we haven't had any issues since. I'm happy to answer more questions offline if you'd like.
Best,
