Knowing what you waste is the first step in reducing it. This week the
UN Environmental Programme and the World Resources Institute, among
other organizations, have launched a new Food Loss and Waste Protocol to
allow businesses, governments, and organizations all around the world to
more effectively track food waste so they are better able to manage it.
The protocol not only provides quantification tools but also offers
training and other resources to better quantify, manage, and reduce food
waste. While I have yet to explore the protocol in depth, this could be
an invaluable tool in the fight on food waste.
Have a great weekend,
