Thanks to those who wrote asking about joining the PHHP Blended Learning task force (BLTF).
We now have a second opportunity, which is the PHHHP curriculum committee. The curriculum committee regularly reviews and approves courses and programs (e.g., new doctoral or certificate programs) before they are forwarded to the university and the State of Florida for final approval.
We also take on special projects related to teaching in the College. Currently, we're working on refining our "peer evaluation of teaching protocol", which is the process by which faculty, graduate students, and other instructors are observed/reviewed regarding their teaching. All of this interconnects with the BLTF work to establish indicators of teaching excellence. A future project will be to review and make recommendations regarding the student evaluation of teaching (the course evaluations you all do).
The committee meets no more than one hour a month, and often less.
Interested students must have majors in PHHP (e..g, CHP, RSD, Speech/Language/Audiology, HSRMP, Epidemiology/Public Health, etc). You may be asked to furnish a CV and one-paragraph statement by our Associate Dean.
Thanks for considering, Michael
