I'm excited about the stuff various NetLab teams are doing, and that I'm
presenting at the Beijing Sunbelt conference. I'm leaving this afternoon
for the first official INSNA conference west of California and east of
1. Part of a panel of olde guys celebrating the 40th anniversary of INSNA,
started by Bev and me in 1977. (Alas, Bev is staying home to work.)
2. An organizational networks panel in honour of always-fascinating Ron
Burt's keynote, talking about the implications for networked work and
organization of our NAVEL research into networked scholars.
3. The fourth East York study. This time, we're looking at how older
adults engage with digital media. (OMG, East York research goes back to
1967, it's our 50th anniversary.)
3a. This is part of a dynamite session on Networked Individualism - East &
West that stars Vincent Chua on his new Singaporean research; Somrita
Ganchoudriri on Asian gay relationships; and Zeynep Yetis on
entrepreneurial networks in Sweden.
4. Then I get to do a stand-alone talk about Networked Individualism,
building on our Networked book.
