position for the Observatory on Social Media at Indiana University:
The mission of the Observatory, which recently received a $6 million
investment from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Indiana
University, is to study the media and technology networks that drive
the online diffusion of dis/mis/information.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Computing, Network, Data,
Physical, Mathematical, Information, or Media Sciences, or a related
field. A solid record of publications in top-tier peer-reviewed
journals or conferences, as well as strong coding and data analytics
skills, are required. Good communication and writing abilities are a
must. Previous post-doctoral experience in an area close to
computational social science, network science, data science, or data
journalism is desirable.
