POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado, is pleased to announce an
exciting opportunity. A search has begun for the position of Vice
President of Academic Affairs. This position is currently held by a
valued colleague, with 17 years of service to Mesa State, desiring to
return to the teaching environment, who will continue in the position

Mesa State college in Grand Junction, Colorado, is a growing, public
institution with a Fall 1996 enrollment of 4,713 students. The College
offers a Master's of Business Administration degree along with a
comprehensive array of baccalaureate, associate, and occupational
programs on three campuses.
Located 250 miles west of Denver, Grand Junction is in the Colorado River
valley on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains. Population of the
urban area is over 100,000. The valley enjoys mild winters, yet it is
within a short driving distance of Aspen, Vail, and Telluride. Over a
dozen national parks and major recreation areas are within a few hours drive.
VICE PRESIDENT for ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Serves as the chief academic officer responsible for the leadership of
all matters pertaining to academic programs, the library, continuing and
off-campus education, academic and student services, and enrollment
management. Required qualifications include:
* Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university
* Three years of proven leadership at the dean, director, and/or vice
president level
* College level teaching experience sufficient to merit appointment as a
tenured professor
