In Texas,  the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has identified reading intensive courses for the purposes of the TASP (Texas Academic Skills Program).  According to the THECB, the following courses are eligible for inclusive as
reading-intensive (although an institution may remove one of the courses from the list if it wishes):

World Literature
American Literature
British Literature
U S Government
American History
General Psychology

Generally, 2 3-hour courses are offered in each area.
