Currently, we have no English faculty tutors. However, we have had math
faculty tutors and faculty tutors in other areas. It's never seemed unfair
to us; usually the faculty tutor announces in his/her classes that he/she
tutors.

However, I have noticed that a lot of students refuse to be tutored by their
own instructor. A lot of times, they don't want their instructor to know
what kinds of problems they're having. They're afraid it will affect the
instructor's perception of them, and, thus, adversely affect their grades.
Also, sometimes, the student feels they are having problems because of their
instructor, and they need a different viewpoint.
