A conference announcement FYI

> Delta College and William Rainey Harper College invite you to attend the
> Fifth Annual Conference on Learning Communities and Collaboration,
> November 15 - 17, 2000, in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
> .
> This conference has become a national gathering of faculty,
> administrators, counselors, librarians, and student mentors and tutors
> from two and four-year institutions, as well as secondary schools.
>
> The conference focuses on learning communities: thematically-linked
> courses from two or more disciplines. Presenters explore issues related
> to collaboration in various and complex teaching and learning settings.
> The conference theme, Learning Communities: Here, There, and Everywhere,
>
> reminds us that learning communities take many shapes and can arise in
> countless places, and that the scope of learning communities is limited
> only by our imaginations and our ability as educators and students to
> innovate. A special conference strand will emphasize building
> community. A pre-conference workshop (11/15) and specific sessions
> (11/16-17) developing this strand will help us create a community of
> educators during the conference and give participants ideas to take
> here, there, and everywhere. Our keynote speakers are Faith Gabelnick
> and John O'Connor.
>
