Center for Learning and Assessment Services (CLAS)
Organize and administer the College's testing and academic support services at the five main campuses and extension center sites.
The Director of the CLAS will be responsible for the management of the Testing and Tutoring Offices, as well as the Learning Centers. He (She) will be responsible for the academic computing component of CLAS, such as the computer-assisted software, web-page maintenance and on-line services. The Director will supervise, hire and evaluate staff. Develop scheduling for all the Learning Centers. Consult with campus Department Chairs, Directors, Deans and Faculty to provide a streamline delivery of services college-wide which will include clarifying and developing policies and expanding services to students and faculty. Ensure quality and equity in the delivery of all academic support services to Mercy's commuter and distance learners. Move the department forward by designing, evaluating and implementing academic support initiatives. Spearhead the development and implementation of the College's on-line tutoring services to both undergraduates and graduate programs. The Director will be a key administrator in the college's "competency initiative". The Director will be an active member of the General Education Committee. Other duties as assigned.
Masters Degree required plus five years experience in the area of academic support services. Must have excellent managerial, communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience in budget management. Must be committed to Mercy's mission, "Consumed in Service."
