HP Names Fiorina Chairman
Carly Fiorina is now a triple threat. The 46-year old CEO and president of Hewlett-Packard is now also chairman of the board. Fiorina succeeds Richard Hackborn, who has been serving as a non-executive director. Hackborn a veteran at Hewlett-Packard Co., will remain on the board. HP also said it plans to buy back $1 billion worth of its own stock.

Juvenile Hacker Gets Detention
A 16-year-old Miami male pleaded guilty to two acts of juvenile delinquency for computer hacking and was sentenced to six months in a detention facility, said Attorney General Janet Reno Thursday. The hacker, who went by the Internet name "cOmrade," admitted to breaking into a military computer network used by the Defense Department's Defense Threat Reduction Agency. He gained unauthorized access of a computer server in Dulles, Va., and installed a backdoor access to the router. He intercepted more than 3,300 e-mails to and from the defense staff, collecting 19 user names and passwords. It is the first time a juvenile hacker will serve time in a detention facility, according to the Department of Justice.
