Yesterday afternoon Steve Collins confirmed that there were two
Clay-colored Sparrows at the same site in Weekiwachee Preserve in Hernando
County. This morning Murray Gardler saw one of them at the junction
described below. Later in the morning Steve Collins had a lengthy study of
one of the Clay-coloreds further west along the trail, and taking a side
trail to the left into the woods.

To reach Weekiwachee Preserve, from the intersection of US-19 and Spring
Hill Drive (CR-574) in Spring Hill, Hernando County, turn west from the
traffic light onto Osowaw Blvd. (CR-595), and follow the road through a
right and left turn, then turn right to the parking lot for the Preserve
(0.7 miles from the traffic light). Walk north on the paved road to the
first trail on the left, which is blocked off with a chain. Take this
trail to the left. At the junction where another trail doubles back on the
right toward the paved road, the sparrows have been seen in the grass and
bushes on your left.
