Your reply wouldn't seem sarcastic except for the word "unnecessary".  Not nice. Judgmental. Also, having the time to do something is relative-after all, you took the time to make your remark because you thought it was important enough to do so.  Others felt that expressing concern about the election was important.

I have to pause for a moment to ask one question:

        Where does everyone get the TIME to write messages about political
endorsements, "me too's," and all of the unnecessary things I keep seeing?
I guess "necessary" is in the eye of the beholder.  Don't mean to be
sarcastic but just had to ask.
