The headquarters at Ft. DeSoto is getting many calls and requests for info on
the status/location of the Heermann's Gull. They're asking that anyone seeing
the gull please make an effort to relay the location and time to them either by
stopping by the office or notifying a ranger (but not groundskeepers or
maintenance workers) who'll radio in. Rangers' vehicles are pretty clearly
marked as "Ranger" so don't hesitate to flag one down as they patrol.

The gull wasn't seen again yesterday after it left its place north of the main
concession building. According to Lyn, many birds could be seen feeding off
Egmont which is one possibility. She spent the afternoon looking throughout
(found a meadowlark which is a pretty rare occurrence there, also a Lesser B-B
Gull at the north end).

Some people are returning for the third time or more from some distances, many
for a lifer, so all efforts to keep the information current will be much
appreciated. Thanks.
