As I understand Domino.doc it must run on a Domino server, the same server
technology that Lotus Notes runs on. Because of that, if you already have
a 'Notes shop', you would have a much smaller learning curve for your end
users. There is a lot of information on Lotus' web site about Domino.doc,

http://www.lotus.com/home.nsf/welcome/domdoc

and several extensions to it, including an extended search module, workflow
module and imaging capability. In addition, there are a couple of IBM
"Redbooks" on Domino.doc and implementation with workflow on the site. I
believe it has web capability, which should make it possible to be
client-server free, except at the management/operational/administration
level.
Good luck!
