Just to add my two cents worth to the good records management discussion
- to Gary's succinct comment, I would add "For as long as the
information is of value."
If you may need the information (records) for more that three years, you
should be sure you have microfilm images of the records, if the
originals are to be destroyed. Remember that the electronic images are
useful only as long as there is a working system on which to retrieve
them.
