Effective July 2001.  Chair administers a nationally recognized comprehensive developmental education program (formerly the Educational Development Center) that emphasizes student achievement and retention; supervises 17 fulltime and 13 part-time personnel.  Required: earned doctorate, ABD considered; administrative experience in developmental education programs in higher education; university teaching in related fields; and strong communication skills.  Desired: active professional participation and scholarly activities.  The Department of Academic Enrichment increases success by helping underprepared students prepare, prepared students advance, and advanced students excel.  The department provides college skill courses; operates a learning center, a writing center and a TRIO center (Student Support Services and McNair); and administers retention programs including first-year student, supplemental instruction, suspension waiver, and diversity courses.
