Murray Gardler and I found the red-eyed Plegadis ibis reported by Ken Allen
about 20' from the drive in Mounds pool #1. It was an adult bird that was
feeding with an immature Glossy ibis. The eye was bright red as was the
patch of skin immediately behind the eye. The eye and skin were the same
color. The birds flew off separately and the white-faced disappeared
shortly after. There are many Glossy ibis in the area.
