Yesterday, around 5pm or so, there were at least 8 Red-throated Loons in
Ochlockonee Bay, on the west (bay) side of the bridge. When one of the birds
turned its head so that the light hit it, the white area on the neck showed
up very well even at a distance.

The birds were viewed from the boat ramp on the Franklin County (south) end
of the bridge, and were in the channel in the middle of the bay. 10x bins
are barely adequate, but a scope would be necessary for any really good
looks.

On the return trip across the bridge, a Laughing Gull, with a full dark
hood, was perched on the railing on the east (gulf) side of the bridge. Also
there were 500+ Ring-billed Gulls, in various plumages, at Mashes Sands
County Park.
