I was able to easily find the Dickcissel today (2-24-01) that was reported earlier at St. Andrew's State Recreation Area. St. Andrew's is in Panama City Beach. Take County Road 3031 south from Hwy. 98. It will eventually dead end into Thomas Road. Turn left to enter the park ($4.00 fee). Pick up a park map at the entrance station and head to the Jetty. You will find two restrooms at the jetty parking area. The bird was just to the right of the restroom that is NOT connected to the store. She was feeding with a group of Savannah Sparrows as reported earlier. The rest of the day at the park produced very little of interest. The drought has dried up all the marshes!
