presents a one-day workshop

RESEARCHING CANADIAN RECORDS RETENTION REQUIREMENTS

Researching records retention requirements in Canadian statutes and
regulations can be a challenging and time-consuming task. This
full-day workshop will introduce the research process and the many
primary and secondary resources available in print and online for
researching Canadian records retention requirements. Shikha Sharma,
Reference Librarian at the University's Bora Laskin Law Library, will
provide a brief tutorial on using Canadian legal resources, and group
exercises will allow participants to gain hands-on exposure to many of
the primary and secondary resources invaluable for conducting
comprehensive retention requirements research.

In addition, this workshop will examine requirements for the
admissibility of records in court proceedings and the records
retention implications of both statute of limitation periods and
access to information legislation.
