DOCUMENT CONTROL ANALYST/CONSULTANT  Two Positions


Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000 Depending Upon Experience/Qualifications 
No Relocation

FUNCTION

To provide extensive Document Control support including but not limited to
the inventory, analysis, classification, and coding of active records
management systems.  The incumbent will provide active files management
support for a manual and electronic document management system (EDMS)
environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Extensive development, implementation and maintenance of uniform file
classification systems by
     conducting inventories, taking surveys and recommending active records
systems.
2.  Implementation, training and maintenance of strategic document control
procedures and policies.
3.  Sorting, classifying and coding records material for filing.
4.  Accessing, compiling, gathering and issuing requested records and
information.
5.      Management summary reporting of document control activities for inclusion
into departmental monthly statistical reports.

PRINCIPAL CONTACTS

Frequent contract with upper management.  Interfaces with other record
analysts and other staff members for the purpose of exchanging information
regarding assignments.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1.      Previous records inventory and uniform file classification experience.
2.      Full understanding of the lifecycle of a document.
3.      Some experience in an engineering/construction project environment a
plus.
4.      Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
5.      Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
6.      Strong interpersonal skills including developing and maintaining client
business relations in a consultant role.  Able to work effectively with all
levels of personnel with tact and diplomacy.
7.      Able to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and make
recommendations.
8.      Understanding of records storage equipment.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Two years of college with specialized course work in records management,
business or computer technology preferred.  Two to three years in an active
records environment (engineering/construction projects preferred). It is
important that candidate has a level EDMS background and be familiar with
software used in this environment.
