PINELLAS COUNTY
At Ft DeSoto County Park, two SHINY COWBIRDS were reported singing on a wire
close to the fort picnic area on 2 June (reported by Lyn Atherton). This
area is located by turning south into the Gulf Pier entrance road. To get
to Ft. DeSoto, take Exit 4 off I-275 and go west on SR 682 (54th Ave South)
to SR 679 (Pinellas Bayway). Turn south and follow to the park. Stop at
the park headquarters for a map and sightings info.  DeLorme p. 90, D3;
Pranty pp. 126-130

BROWARD COUNTY
In Pembroke Pines, at a mitigation wetlands adjacent to the Broward County
SW Regional Library on Sheridan Street, one male MASKED DUCK is still
present as of 8 June (last reported by Jill Rosenfield). The duck is being
reported from the eastern side of the northern fork of the boardwalk. Early
morning seems to be the best time to view the duck. Take I-75 south from
I-595 to Sheridan Street. Go west on Sheridan a little over one-half mile
and the library will be on the right (north). The wetland and boardwalk is
east of the parking lot. DeLorme p. 115, D1

At Price Park, a pair of WHITE-TAILED KITES with young continue to be
reported as of 6 June (last report by Chris Newton). They are viewable from
a distance along a hedge on the north side of the park. Pass through the
hedge and use a scope if possible. From US-27, turn east onto Johnson, which
is two intersections south of Sheridan St. Go straight at the stop sign at
208th. The park is on the left just past the intersection. DeLorme p. 114,
D3
