Hello
Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks are still present at the new Viera
Wetlands. At about 10:30 this morning, 2 were found on a grassy peninsular
jutting out into the main pond from the West side. The first of two
observation towers is located at this pond. Two more were found on the West
side of the impoundment just south of the main pond. It is this impoundment
where I usually find the ducks. They are often seen roosting in the dead
pine trees. Also seen were many Least Bitterns and a single Purple Gallinule.
