According to a 1992 summary of fossil vertebrate records in Florida, a
specimen identified as Masked Duck is known from the very early Pliocene of
Florida -- approximately 5 million years ago.  The locality is not not
cited, but an educated guess would be the "Bone Valley" phosphate beds of
Polk County.
