Beginning May 1st, there will be several changes that will affect the way
EMS and Fire are designated.

The major change affects the current Medic 5 (Alachua/High Springs) which
will now be Station 20, and the current Medic 6 (NW 34th Street and Hwy 441)
which will now be Station 9.

Ambulance units which are presently noted as "Medic" will now be called
"Rescue".
Rescue units which are presently noted as "Rescue" will now be called
"Squad".

This will now make the following station designations.

Station 1 ......  Gainesville Fire   (Includes Squad 1)
Station 2 ......  Gainesville Fire   (Includes Rescue 2)
Station 3 ......  Gainesville Fire   (Includes Rescue 3)
Station 4 ......  Gainesville Fire
Station 5 ......  Gainesville Fire
Station 6 ......  Gainesville Fire (Airport)
Station 7 ......  Gainesville Fire
Station 8 ......  ACFR - Orange Heights  (Rescue 8)
Station 9 ......  ACFR - Rescue 9 - NW 34th Street at 441
Station 12 .....  ACFR - SE 43rd Street
Station 15 .....  ACFR - Archer Road    (Includes Rescue 15)
Station 16 .....  ACFR - Ft. Clarke Blvd  (Includes Squad 16)
Station 17 .....  ACFR - Jonesville  (Includes Rescue 17)
Station 19 .....  ACFR - SW 20th Avenue  (Includes Rescue 19)
Station 20 .....  ACFR - Rescue 20 - 441 between I-75 and High Springs
Station 21 .....  ACFR - Alachua
Station 22 .....  LaCrosse  (Includes Squad 22)
Station 23 .....  Waldo
Station 24 .....  Melrose
Station 25 .....  ACFR - Hawthorne  (Includes Rescue 25)
Station 26 .....  Micanopy
Station 27 .....  Archer  (Includes Squad 27)
Station 28 .....  Newberry
Station 29 .....  High Springs  (Includes Squad 29)
Station 30 .....  Windsor
Station 31 .....  Cross Creek


This information should alleviate any confusion you may have when the
changes take effect.
