Just some clarification. I do work for the FWC but not on whoopers. Steve
Nesbitt is the coordinator of whooping crane reintroduction etc. for our
agency. He is based in Gainesville.
Mr. Dees, I'm afraid I'm not the individual you spoke with. I coordinate the
Great Florida Birding Trail-- perhaps you got the names crossed. Or someone
was impersonating me? Hardly seems worth the effort though... :)

The head of the project  with FWC Julie Brashears called me a few
 days after I posted the sighting.  They flew up on Monday (I posted on
Sunday early evening).  They have lost contact with this group, so she
glad to hear of them.   I haven't seen them since...but I drive a little
slower by every open field I pass.    :-)
